This report covers the week ending July 16, 2017. The Mint had one new release during this sales period: the 2017 America the Beautiful–Ozark National Scenic Riverways 5-ounce silver Uncirculated coin (17AL). Released on July 11, it handily took the number-one-seller spot on this week’s report, with 13,740 units sold. Among the 5-ounce ATB Uncirculated coins, however, it had one of the weakest opening-week showings ever.

The 2017 American Eagle 1-ounce platinum Proof coin (17EJ)—last week‘s best seller—tumbled to seventh place, but it remains an interesting item. Limited to a mintage of 10,000, the coin was released on July 6… Full article at the source>

In an article by Paul Gilkes, Coin World has shared U.S. Mint mock-ups (shown above) for the 2017 palladium bullion coins. The obverse is an exact and finely detailed rendering of the classic Winged Liberty dime obverse by Adolph A. Weinman. The word LIBERTY encircles the field above the effigy, while IN.GOD / WE.TRUST is placed in the lower left field, the designer’s initials in the lower right field, and the date, 2017, below Liberty’s neck. The U.S. Mint’s authorized purchasers (AP’s) bought 945,000 2016 American Eagle silver bullion coins last week, well up from 170,000 pieces sold during the previous period.

One-ounce Silver Eagles have sold 30,155,500 pieces so far this year. As we are currently 72% of the way through 2016 and sales for these issues have reached only 64% of last year’s total of 47 million ounces, ASE sales remain unlikely to reach last year’s total.

Gold’s value decreased by $10.80 an ounce during the past week. Gold is now appraised at $1,313.80 according to the London Bullion Market Association. The value… Full article at the source>

The U.S. Mint’s authorized purchasers (AP’s) bought 250,000 of last week‘s 2,839,500-ounce allocation of 2016 American Eagle silver bullion coins, leaving 2,589,500 unsold. This is the most unsold Silver Eagles we’ve seen so far this year, continuing a recent trend that has seen the Mint’s inventory growing with the help of consistent production and softer demand.

Sales for the issues dropped sharply, due in part to the observance of the Fourth of July holiday. AP’s bought 73% fewer Silver Eagles during this period than the 938,000 ounces reported last week. The unsold pieces have been added to this week’s… Full article at the source>

There have been some significant milestones for U.S. Mint bullion sales today. The Mint may be having trouble keeping some of its gold and Uncirculated collector coins in stock, but it’s had so such problems providing huge amounts of investor strikes to voracious authorized purchasers.

The Mint sold out this week’s allocation of 1,073,500 ounces of American Eagle Silver bullion coins today, bringing the overall total for 2016 to 10 million coins sold. Considering the fact that the all-time sales record for the issues reached 47,000,000 ounces last year, 10 million is an impressive total to reach… Full article at the source>

The U.S. Mint has released this week’s allocation of American Eagle 1 oz. Silver bullion coins and it’s a similar quantity to those issued in previous weeks. The Mint has released 1 million Silver Eagles to its authorized purchasers, down slightly from 1.07 million coins issued last week.

American Eagle Silver bullion coins are selling at a record-breaking pace this year. Nearly 38 million have been sold already in 2015, and last year’s all-time high of more than 44 million ounces is likely to be surpassed.

Those robust numbers mask the fact that limited availability has somewhat hindered… Full article at the source>

U.S. Mint to lift ration for American Eagle silver coins

May 30, 2014 in Coins, Collecting, Investing, News, Numismatica, Numismatics, Precious Metals, Silver, Silver Coins, Silver Eagles, US Mint, USA Coins

(Reporting by Frank Tang). May 30 (Reuters) – (http://www.reuters.com) The U.S. Mint said on Friday it will cease rationing its popular American Eagle silver bullion investment coins, as retail investment demand has waned.

The Mint, which started rationing the coins last year amid red-hot demand, said that its authorized dealers can buy as many silver Eagles as they wish effective Monday, June 2.

The U.S. Mint has been allocating, or rationing sales of silver coins to its authorized dealers since late January, 2013 following a brief suspension as unprecedented demand depleted silver coin blanks.
