The Royal Mint have issued their second six-coin set of crowns which remember the 100th anniversary of the commencement of the Great War or as it was later termed after 1945, World War I.

As the world continues to remember the centenary of the outbreak of the First World War, one of the most prominent female casualties of the First World War has been honored on one of the six crown coins in the set alongside a young flying ace and for the first time, a coin is dedicated to the role of animals on the battlefield.
